Hello

I’m Edith, a slow-traveler from Estonia who explores the world and writes about all the books and people met along the way. I’m also known for drinking more tea than anybody else in the room and taking photos of pretty and/or interesting things.

The first edition of the book that cleimedly ended colonialism. Max Havelaar by Multatuli. Multatuli museum basement has a pretty neat (author specific of course) research library. #iamsterdam #amsterdamarea #multatuli #firstedition #bookstagram
Eye museum in Amsterdam. A cool optical trick. #iamsterdam #eyemuseum
Guess the book 🙃. An other of those books everyone have heard about but not many actually read. #whatbook #guessthebook #readingtime #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram
Advantage of cruising around the Amsterdam in slow pace is finding a public bookshelf. Not sure how well they keep with high humidity but the ones I saw were in a good shape. Oost neighborhood. Is there any public bookshelves close to you home? #bookstagram #iamsterdam #readingtime #bookshelves #netherlands #nomadlife

Today's sunset was doing all out impressionism. I can sure see where Van Gogh got some of his inspiration. The water reflections and colours made me over half an hour late for my writing group. Totally worth it. #iamsterdam #visitamsterdam #nomadlife #travelstories #digitalnomad #booksandtravel
Cute idea, a cardboard model house of the building of the secret Annex. Would have loved to have it as a kid. Still would had I more steady lifestyle. Maybe one day. #annefrank #annefrankhouse #bookstagram #ilovereading #visitamsterdam
Just got back from my visit to the secret Annex. The whole place is set up well to manage the constant flow of visitors. I was really impressed with the way people moved and behaved there. Nobody was pushing or irritated. Calm, respectful and despite the lack of obvious guards only very few people broke the no-photo rule inside the house. As if to balance the humanity at its worse reflect in history, people had brought their best behaviour. Anne Frank's diary is an incredibly example of a writing that communicates history. The way she writes is remarkable with its optimism and insight to human character. Translate into more than 50 languages. #annefrankhouse #iamsterdam #bookshop #bookstagram #readingtime #annefrank
